At the Citylights Condop on Long Island City’s coveted waterfront, this renovation project focused on significant improvements throughout the home. Our team installed Dust Barrier ZipWalls, sticky mats, and Masonite boards to protect existing finishes while working. We reconfigured and opened up the kitchen by removing wall cabinets, exposing gas and water risers, and relocating cabinets to a wall nook. The kitchen was extended with an island for seating and storage, new countertops, backsplash, and a floating ceiling with recessed lighting. We probed and reconfigured soffits where possible, re-framing, plastering, and painting as needed. The living space was updated with TV relocation, running internal wiring, concealing cables with in-wall conduits, and skim-coating and painting living areas, with additional protection for built-in shelving. In the bathroom, we installed a new recessed medicine cabinet, replaced decorative glass tiles, and installed a new lighting fixture. Additionally, we upgraded all electrical outlets, switches, and plates in the 29G portion of the unit and refinished the wooden floors with a satin finish throughout.
